The Isle of Wight picked up a very complimentary mention today in Sandi Toksvig’s Excess Baggage programme on BBC R4.
Broadcaster, Roger George Clark was guest on the show and VB readers may remember his name from last year when we wrote about his latest book, a collection of photographs of the Isle of Wight from the 1960s.
Roger returned to the Island last year to promote the book and spoke fondly of the decaying beauty of Ryde, the wonderful untouched landscapes of West Wight and the preserved charm of Ventnor.
We think that he managed to convey to Sandi that the Isle of Wight is a great place to visit, so perhaps we’ll see her here sometime this year.
Roger’s book is a wonderful collection of photographs from around the Island in the 1960s and is sure to bring back many fond memories for those who lived here during that period.
