If you are a homeowner and want to lower your energy bills, the Isle of Wight Retrofit Fair could be just what you need.
It takes place on Wednesday 6th August (10am-4pm) at the Isle of Wight Steam Railway and is completely free to attend.
Expert advice and practical support
Organised by Island-based community interest company Future Isle of Wight CIC, the event brings together a wide range of exhibitors who offer home energy efficiency services.
You’ll find everything from solar panels and heat pumps to internal wall insulation — with experts on hand to explain how each measure works and what it can save you.
Help with funding available
Government grants are available for many homeowners — especially if your property has an EPC rating of D or E, your household income is below £36,000 a year, or you receive benefits.
The Future Isle of Wight CIC team will be at the fair to help visitors check if they qualify for funding.
See how it all works
Vince Ward, founder of Future Isle of Wight CIC, said,
“We have brought together many providers from the energy efficiency sector for the public to see how they carry out installations, the impact those measures have on energy bills and how government funding pays for the installation.
“This event follows on from project work we have been carrying out with Isle of Wight Council and other partners, to help Island residents in accessing energy saving measures for the home.”
Plan your visit
Whether you’re just starting to think about making your home more efficient, or already know what you want to install, the Retrofit Fair is a great place to get advice and explore your options.
