Isle of Wight roadworks and road closures week starting 4th July

List of Isle of Wight roadworks and road closures taking place week starting Monday 4th July 2016 as provided by Island Roads.

BINSTEAD:
Church Road
(between Binstead Hill to Quarr Road). Temporary traffic lights will be in operation from 8am until 5pm on Tuesday 5 July and Wednesday 6 July 2016 for highway works by Island Roads.

COWES:
Footpath CS6 Love Lave,
will be closed while Southern Water install a new water main between 4 and 12 July For further details contact Southern Water.

Ward Avenue, will be closed between Park Road and Baring Road. The road will be closed between 4 and 15 July for carriageway surfacing works by Island Roads. For further information contact Island Roads on 01983 822440

High Street between Town Quay and Carvel Lane. The road will be closed between 5 and 11 July for a new gas service connection by SGN. Access to the Red Jet terminal will be via Terminus Road through temporary traffic signals.

EAST COWES:
Esplanade
will be closed from 2.30pm on Friday 25 April 2014 for the foreseeable future between 375 metres to the northeast of Cambridge Road and the end of the highway 860 metres to the northeast of Cambridge Road. There is no alternative route for traffic. This closure is necessary to avoid danger to persons or other traffic using the road due to a landslip.

FRESHWATER:
Camp Road / Queens Road
will be closed from 6.30am until 6pm on approximately 5 to 10 days between Friday 10 June and Friday 8 July 2016. The closure is from Stroud Road to Bedbury Lane for carriageway and footway repairs, resurfacing, and drainage works by Island Roads. LAKE:
Whitecross Lane,
by Aldi Store. Temporary traffic management (traffic signals & priority working) will be in operation between 27 June and 5 August for highway works in connection with the construction of the new store. Works are being undertaken by MCM Construction

Ranalagh Road / Cliff Road / Cliff Path from 1200hrs on Friday 18 July 2014 for the foreseeable future the following roads / path will be closed to vehicular traffic: Cliff Road / Cliff Path will be closed from point 55 metres to the northwest of the junction with Ranalagh Road to point 185 metres to the south west of the junction with Cliff Gardens (the southern boundary of number 6). Ranalagh Road will also be closed from Cliff Road to a point 10 metres to the west of Cliff Road. During the period of closure there is no alternative route for vehicles. The closure is required due to erosion. Pedestrian access will be maintained as usual.

NEWCHURCH:
Watery Lane
will be closed from 6.30pm until 6am on approximately 5 to 10 nights between Friday 3 June and Friday 15 July 2016. The closure is from Harbors Lake Lane to Winford Road for carriageway and footway repairs, resurfacing, and drainage works by Island Roads. NEWPORT:
Cowes Road
by 11 (north of Stag Lane) Temporary traffic signals will be in operation for Southern Water repair works to a leaking service connection between 29 June and 7 July. For further details contact Southern Water.

Horsebridge Hill (by 121 & 123, near Stag Lane). Temporary traffic signals will be in operation for Carriageway repair works by island Roads between 6 and 8 July. For further details contact Island Roads on 01983 822440

NETTLESTONE:
Nettlestone Green
by Inglewood. Temporary traffic signals will be in operation by Southern Water for repair works to a service between 27 June and 4 July. For further details contact Southern Water.

RYDE:
Ashey Road
will be closed from 6.30 pm to 6am from 30 June to 8 July. The closure is from Upton Road to Smallbrook Lane for carriageway resurfacing works by Island Roads. For further details contact Island Roads on 01983 822440

SHALFLEEET:
A3054 Main Road
between Elm Lane and Station Road This road will be closed for carriageway resurfacing works between 6.30pm and 6am on 24 June and 22 July. For further details contact Island Roads on 01983 822440.

SHANKLIN:
Cliff Path
will be closed from 9.30am on Monday 20 January 2014 for the foreseeable future to pedestrians from Skew Bridge Path to Winchester House Car Park. The closure is required due to erosion/ land movement. During the period of closure the alternative route for pedestrians will be: Skew Bridge Path, A3055 Sandown Road and Winchester House Car Park. Landguard Manor Road, between Green Lane and Witbank Gardens. This road will be closed for carriageway resurfacing works between 6.30am and 6pm on 30 June and 5 July. For further details contact Island Roads on 01983 822440

Victoria Avenue by 114. Temporary traffic signals will be in operation while Southern Water undertaken replacement of a cover and frame between 6 and 8 July. For further details contact Southern Water.

Collingwood Road, west of Brook Road. This road will be closed for carriageway resurfacing works between 6.30am and 6pm on 6 July and 12 July. For further details contact Island Roads on 01983 822440

SHORWELL:
Mill Lane
will be closed from 6.30am until 6pm on approximately 5 to 10 days between Friday 20 May and Friday 1 July 2016. The closure is from Muggleton Lane to Wolverton Lane for carriageway and footway repairs, resurfacing, and drainage works by Island Roads. ST LAWRENCE:
A3055 Undercliff Drive
will remain closed from St Catherine’s Road to Seven Sisters Road (Western Junction), between Barrington Lodge, near to the western junction with Seven Sisters Road and Mirables which is located about a mile towards Niton. Following significant ground movement in the area in early February 2014, Undercliff Drive has been physically closed between Mirables (in the west) and a point 560 metres to the West of Seven Sisters Road (in the east) for safety reasons. There is now no access for vehicles or pedestrians. A formal road and footpath closure will be in operation for the foreseeable future. Access to businesses and attractions in Undercliff Drive will be maintained. During the period of closure the alternative route for traffic will be:
Pedestrians: A3055 Undercliff Drive, Public Footpath V81, V77, NT28, NT29, NT30 and A3055 Undercliff Drive. Cyclists and Equestrians: A3055 Undercliff Drive, Seven Sisters Road, St Lawrence Shute, Whitwell Road, Ventnor Road, High Street (Whitwell), Kemming Road, Chatfield Road, Rectory Road, High Street (Niton), Institute Hill, Barrack Shute and A3055 Undercliff Drive.

VENTNOR:
Longdown Steps Public Footpath V102
will be closed from 10am on Monday 12 May 2014 for the foreseeable future between South Street and St Catherine’s Street. This closure is necessary to avoid danger to persons using the footpath until wall repair works have been undertaken. The diversion route for pedestrians will be: South Street, West Street, High Street, Victoria Street, Wheelers Bay Road and St Catherine’s Street.

Castle Road (between Zig Zag Road and Gills Cliff Road) The road will be closed between 8 July and 16 September while retaining wall works are carried out. Temporary traffic lights will be in operation from Gills Cliff Road to Caslte Road and Zig Zag Road to Zig Zag Road while the closure is in place. Traffic delays may occur.

Church Street. Temporary traffic signals will be in operation by Church Street Motorcycles and Pier Street whilst a scaffolding is in place between 30 June and 18 July. For further information contact Island Roads on 01983 822440

Gills Cliff Road will be closed from 6.30am until 6pm on approximately 5 to 10 days between Friday 27 May and Friday 8 July 2016. The closure is from Whitwell Road to Ocean View Road for carriageway and footway repairs, resurfacing, and drainage works by Island Roads. WHIPPINGHAM:
Public Footpath N214
will be closed from Crematorium Road to Public Footpath N114 from 9am on Wednesday 5 August 2015 for the foreseeable future. The closure is required until urgent repair works have been undertaken to B171 Whippingham Cattle Creep. The alternative route for pedestrians is; Crematoriums Road, A3054 Lushington Hill, Racecourse and Fairlee Road.

Public Footpath N221 will be closed from Island Harbour to the Folly from Tuesday 26April 2016 for the foreseeable future until repair works have been undertaken. The closure is required as the footpath is unsafe due to a landslip. The alternative route for pedestrians is; Mill Lane, Fairlee Road, East Cowes Road, Whippingham Road and Folly Lane.

WOOTTON:
Brocks Copse Road
will be closed from 6.30am to 6pm from 28 June to 6 July 2016
The closure is from Alvertsone Road to Palmers Road for carriageway resurfacing works by Island Roads. For further details contact Island Roads on 01983 822440

Whiterails Road near Briddlesford Road. Temporary traffic signals will be in operation between 29 June and 5 July for repair works by Southern Electric Call Centre on 0845 770 8090.

WROXALL:
St Johns Road,
near Cooks Castle Farm Temporary traffic signals will be in operation while Southern Water undertakes repairs to a burst water main. These will be in operation from 28 June to 6 July. For further details contact Southern Water.
