Isle of Wight Rowing Forum time trials

Some sparkling performances lit up a damp and grey Saturday evening for the third and final Isle of Wight Rowing Forum time trials.

Run over a 1,500m course on the river Medina rowers aged from 12 to 75 posted their fastest times of the series.

Best men’s
The fastest time of the day went to Ryde sculler, Joel Smith, who set the pace with a time of six minutes and 16 seconds.

He was closely followed in Division Two by Newport’s Toby Batchelor with six minutes and 18 seconds.

Best women’s
The best women’s performances went to Shanklin Junior Ladies Four in Division One, with a time of six minutes and 40 seconds.

In Division Two, Shanklin double sculls of Lottie Tapsell and Rachel Debenham with six minutes and 46 seconds.

Next meet
The Island clubs are now looking forward to the start of the regatta season with the Swanage Regatta on 3rd July.
