Cyclists of all ages are invited to join the RSPCA Isle of Wight’s Red Squirrel Ride on Saturday 20th September 2025.
The ride runs from 10am to 3pm, with registration open from 9am.
Family-friendly cycling
Unlike many challenge rides, the Red Squirrel Ride is largely traffic-free. It makes extensive use of the Island’s network of old railway paths and cycle trails, offering a safe and leisurely day out.
Two circular routes are available:
- 16 miles – perfect for families and new cyclists.
- 34 miles – a longer route with extra hills for those seeking more of a challenge.
Both options can be enjoyed at your own pace, with plenty of time to take in the Island’s beaches and countryside.
Two start points
Riders can begin at the RSPCA Animal Centre in Godshill, or at Quarr Abbey checkpoint, just minutes from Wightlink’s Fishbourne ferry terminal – ideal for those travelling from the Mainland.
Support Island animals
By joining the ride, you’ll be helping the RSPCA Isle of Wight, an independent local charity dedicated to assisting animals in need across the Island.
Unlike some might assume, the Island branch does not receive full funding from the national RSPCA. It only gets a small percentage of what is needed to run the centre each year, so local fundraising is vital.
Book your place
Tickets are available now via Eventbrite: Red Squirrel Ride tickets.
See the Isle of Wight RSPCA Branch website for more information on how you can support them.
