Creative Remembrance Day handiwork by Isle of Wight school children and a local sewing club will be on display to the public from 3rd November until Remembrance Sunday.
In preparation for Remembrance Sunday, the Isle of Wight branch of the Royal Marines Association (RMA) put a call out to primary school children to get involved with a new project.
Twenty-three schools responded and have taken part, as well as the Shanklin Brownies and the Sandown women’s sewing club, who have produced some wonderful works of art.
The Creative Industries Department from Isle of Wight College will design the display and set it up by 3rd November. It’ll then remain on display until Remembrance Sunday.
You’ll be able to find the display at the Quay Arts Centre, Newport in the warm and friendly atmosphere of the cafe area, where refreshments can be had.
All the children and parents are invited to view the display, including the public, who are most welcome.
Opening ceremony
An opening ceremony is planned for Saturday 6th November at 3pm and all are invited.
Rev Tony Richards will lead the prayers and give a blessing. Local dignitaries will also be invited.
