sheepdog trials in action

Isle of Wight Sheepdog Trials set for a sunny weekend in Ashey

The organisers of the 2024 Isle of Wight Sheepdog Trials are quietly optimistic about a good weather weekend for the third trial to be held here on the Island at Rowlands Lane, Ashey.

With over 50 competitors and dogs coming from all over the UK, the event promises again to deliver a superb demonstration of rural expertise as the sheepdogs work sheep under the critical eye of the judges and in front of a hushed crowd.

The competition will run from 8am to 6pm on Saturday 1st June and Sunday 2nd June, with locally produced Hazelgrove and Brownrigg burgers, hot dogs and more, plus Calbourne Classics and Isle of Wight ice cream, milkshakes, waffles and sundaes to enjoy as you relax outside our refreshment tent.

Donations to the Hospice
Entry is free with a donation to Mountbatten, plus all profits from the Goddards bar and Calbourne classics cake stall donated to The Hospice.

This year the programmes are also free with a donation.

The I Love Wight Makers Market will also be there offering local crafts made by local people.

Don’t miss a unique yet high profile event in any sheep farmers calendar.

Support from sponsors
Supported by event sponsors Red Funnel and day sponsors Go Internet and BCM the committee were overwhelmed by the footfall of over 3,500 people in 2023 and hope to increase the money raised for The Hospice at the 2024 event.
