Isle of Wight waste collection services to transfer to new provider from April 2026

Vital waste collection and treatment services on the Isle of Wight are set to have a new provider.

County Hall has confirmed that provision will be transferred from Thalia Waste Management as of 1st April next year.

French multinational Veolia meanwhile said it is pleased to provide ‘consultancy related services’ to the Isle of Wight Council to help ensure the smooth running of its essential waste and recycling services.

The firm added it is looking forward to supporting the local authority over the coming months.

Waste collection and disposal services will continue without interruption
A council spokesperson said,

“The Isle of Wight Council and Thalia Waste Management Limited have agreed to transfer the provision of waste collection and treatment services on the Isle of Wight to a new service provider, effective 1st April 2026.

“The council wishes to reassure residents that waste collection and disposal services will continue without interruption during this period.

“The council is in discussions with another national waste services company to manage waste services from 1st April.

“Further updates will be provided as and when they become available.”

Thalia: All parties will continue to work in partnership
A spokesperson for Thalia Waste Management said,

“All parties will continue to work in partnership to ensure the continued provision of these services and the smooth transition for residents and businesses on the Isle of Wight.”
