Well said, Tory government = mass sell off and work contracted out. It’s all a giant loop, the problem being that this time around there will be nothing left for another loop in 15-20 years time when the Tory’s get another bash at making the rich richer and the poor poorer. TIC’s by the way are not gone we just have a very diluted service being offered… Read more »

With all these previously public funded services going, can we expect a halving of the Council Tax for next year? That would be fair and a boost to the local economy,as the public would have a bit extra to spend each week.

My comments could be read after a quick glance at the Epiphany Organisational Resilience website (‘epiphany-or.com’ specifically the news section) They are proud to have been appointed to support the IWC’s 25yr £900m highways PFI project, supplying, that’s right you guessed it – yet more consultancy & software. Pointedly the website has a quote stating that the “project is critical to the future economic development of the… Read more »

Has anyone else read the Telegraph this morning? Fab article in the economics section (free online) with the headline “Public Finance Initiative schemes will cost every household nearly £400 next year” apparently the national audit office have in a scathing report, warned the Government that PFI deals were no longer suitable for funding future projects given the spiralling costs of repaying bills over many decades. Well done Lido,
just what we’ve been telling the dumb fools who misgovern us at County Hall. Perhaps we need to get a judicial review of PFI as well!

What’s with the Creche at the Heights in Sandown?
It’s empty apart from the “Merry Xmas” signs & a notice saying it is closed from February 2011 and if you have any enquiries to phone Elderly Services in Cowes.

Well listed and supported by Playingthenumbers, VB readers may also be interested in the current tory ‘No to AV’ campaign literature- that blames all cuts on gordon brown and seems like most of the tories to be in truthful denial of the banking crisis of 2009. Such transperant illogic seems also not to see 600 iow NHS health jobs(loss of health and community sub-contractors and support groups),… Read more »
