Isle of Wight Youth Trust marks Mental Health Awareness Week with free events and self-care tips

The IW Youth Trust will be marking Mental Health Awareness Week, running from 11th to 17th May, with a series of events and a social media campaign encouraging people to take small steps towards better mental wellbeing.

The Island charity is asking people to start small and build up their self-care routines.

Simple steps
Suggestions include connecting with friends over a cup of tea, taking a short walk somewhere with birdsong or trees, learning a new skill, or carrying out a small act of kindness each day.

Become a Mental Ally
One way to learn a new skill is to attend a free Mental Ally session at Youth Trust House on Monday 11th May at 6pm.

For those looking to connect with friends and family, Abbey Brass is performing a family concert at Castlehold Baptist Church in Newport at 2.30pm on Sunday 17th May.

Full details are available on the charity’s website.
