The Isle of Wight Youth Trust this week launched the search for two new Trustees to join their Board of Trustees.
The Youth Trust is a local charity providing mental health and emotional wellbeing services for young people aged 4-25 years on the Isle of Wight. In 2021 the Youth Trust has faced unprecedented demand for its services, receiving an average of 115 referrals each month between March – August 2021 for their one-to-one counselling service.
Marshall: Seeking younger board members
Youth Trust Chair of Trustees, Malcolm Marshall, explained that the charity is seeking two new individuals to join the team responsible for the governance of this vital Island charity. He said,
“Over the past five years, the Youth Trust has significantly expanded and with the outbreak of Covid-19, we have developed some key new areas of work to meet the needs of young Islanders.
“We have an exceptional breadth and depth of knowledge on our board and are seeking to further strengthen our governance with the addition of the two new posts.
“We are strong supporters of the Young Trustees Movement and are keen to see those under 30, who might be looking for an opportunity for personal and professional development at Board level to apply. We are particularly looking to speak to those with professional experience in Education, Counselling and Psychotherapy.”
