About a year ago researchers from the BBC got in touch with OnTheWight asking for our help in connecting them with young Island residents who may’ve been affected by landslides on the Isle of Wight.
Their interest was sparked following the then-recent Totland landslide.
We were able to help out and at the end of March 2013, the BBC crew for CBBC’s Fierce Earth programme came over to the Island and filmed with several young people from West Wight.
Aerial footage
We understand that the crew also went up in helicopters to shoot aerial views of Totland and also carried out some interviews at Blackgang.
The episode is due to be screened at 6.05pm this coming Thursday (6th March) on CBBC and CBBCHD.
You can watch a snippet of the episode over on the CBBC Website. You’ll see Leah, one of the programme’s presenters, conducting an experiment on Compton beach with some young Islanders.
