Find out more about Iron Age detective work at Cafe Scientifique

The next Cafe Scientifique talk takes place from 7pm next Monday, 10th March.

The speaker will be Dr Sarah Paynter, who works for English Heritage at Fort Cumberland.

She’ll be talking about “Detective Work on the Iron Age”. Iron deteriorates so how do you accurately reconstruct how Iron Age people exploited iron?

Sarah is a materials scientist by training specialising in high temperature processes from the past, including metal smelting and working, glass and pottery production; she also analyses with specialist equipment archaeological finds and objects from collections or buildings.

As always, the talk takes place in the Regency Room of Shanklin Conservative Club. Entry is £3 each.
