Private Eye dropped on to the door mat yesterday.
As you may know, the Eye has covered the Undercliff Drive project quite a few times in its Rotten Boroughs section, so it wasn’t too surprising to see that there’s a piece covering the suspension of the three Isle of Wight council officials.
What was surprising, was to see a second article in Rotten Boroughs about the replacement interim director of legal and democratic services – Alison Lowton. The Eye reports that she was previously the legal chief at Camden council and pursued one of the councillors from there with extreme vigour (which I guess is what lawyers do). Full details in issue 1179 of the Eye.
