The award winning Isle of Wight Council web site iwight.com has undergone a makeover.
With all the content that you’re used to finding underneath a new skin, the fresh new look gives the site a more user friendly and informal look about it.
New features include colour coding of sections, quick links on the right hand side of the page and users are now able to access the A-Z menu from all pages.
The home page is much more image driven, giving a more vibrant feel to it than the last version.
Before moving to the Island, we used the iwight site masses to gather information about schools, local councils, utilities etc. It was an invaluable resource, but the clunkiness and drab look and feel let it down.
Visitors and residents using the new site should find it far easier to use and hopefully leave with a positive impression of the Island.
The forums have not missed out on the makeover treatment either which many will be pleased to hear.
It’s impossible with a redesign to get everything right first time and we’re sure that some people (as if often the case) will rebel against the changes.
But we reckon the Web Team at Isle of Wight Council have done a pretty good job on giving the iwight.com site a complete makeover.
Maybe there’s something in the air, because our long anticipated spring clean is coming up soon too.
