If you’re a teacher on the Isle of Wight, there’s only one place for you to be this evening – that’s at IW Teachmeet.
It’s a free, informal conference for teachers, by teachers.
We were so excited to hear about this event.
Positive
At a time where the Island’s schools have been battered by less-than-favorable Ofsted reports, it’s great to know that teachers on the Island are prepared to give up their own time to make improvements in the learning of children on the Isle of Wight.
A rapid succession of teachers will be sharing their best tips and tricks in a programme of micro-presentations, each one being no longer than seven minutes.
Organised by two Island teachers
The way the event has been described by the two organisers @MissRHiggs and @iowgeoger :-
It is about hearing stories about learning, from teachers. This is not an event to present about a product or theory – this is a chance for teachers from all types of establishments to hear ideas from each other. Real narratives of practice that make a difference. It is about being engaged and inspired by our immediate colleagues and a whole bucket load of networking to boot! Whether you just want to attend, or are keen to share your ideas by doing a presentation, everyone is welcome.
