JAZZ CAFÉ: TOMMASO STARACE

July’s Jazz Cafe at Quay Arts on Friday 11th July features the return of Italian saxophonist Tommaso Starace with a vibrant quartet.

JAZZ CAFÉ: TOMMASO STARACETogether they will be performing with an Anglo-Italian edge that brings newly composed pieces by Tommaso plus standards by composers such as Billy Strayhorn, Thelonious Monk and Cannonball Adderley.

Prepare yourself for a hard swinging evening!

‘Starace’s melodious originals offer good blowing potential for alto and soprano solos delivered in a cleanly articulate post-bop style reminiscent of Phil Woods”¦’ Jack Massarik, Jazzwise, April 2006

Since completing his Postgraduate Degree in Jazz at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in the year 2000, Tommaso has gained a considerable reputation in the UK jazz scene appearing at many jazz clubs and Festivals in the country.

Recently he has finished producing his new jazz album based on the black and white photographs of the great Magnum Photographer Elliott Erwitt.

A jazz musician not to be missed!
