Jennings Ego-House Rejected

Amazing what passes for an Eco Home these days isn’t it?

The Stage

The County Press is reporting that the disgusting mess that property developer Michael Jennings calls home, was refused retrospective planning permission at a recent planning committee meeting.

Bizarrely they call it an eco home. Eco home? What’s eco about it? Slap a solar panel or two on a building and it become eco? Eco should go far deeper than that.

Ego home would be more fitting.

Costly council resources
Jennings, in our experience, is a man with a love of playing the planning system. You’ve just got to wonder at the bare-faced cheek of this character when he provides quotes like, “I hope this meeting brings to an end the costly use of council resources and let us all get on with our lives.”

The use of costly council resources when he stands to gain, doesn’t appear to play on his mind normally.

Agitation
There’s another fantastic quote from Jennings in the piece too, “I find it difficult to accept the organised agitation which shows local democracy in its worst light.”

Michael Jennings getting people agitated? Surely not.

From our experience with you, here’s a life clue Mickey – If you didn’t walk through life trying to trample on the lives of other people in pursuit of your own gain, you might find a different reaction.

As to why the planning committee didn’t insist that the ego-house be torn down is only known by them. They were certainly asking if it was a possibility during their tour of the building. There’s always the potential of a Judicial Review according to Don Prescott in the CP piece.
