Dimbola Museum and Galleries in Freshwater will host a special live music event celebrating the golden age of the Isle of Wight Festivals on Saturday 29th November 2025.

The evening, titled “Jimi and Friends”, will feature Big Red and The Cava Boys, alongside special guest Dick Taylor of The Pretty Things and The Rolling Stones.
The performers will recreate music from Jimi Hendrix, The Doors, Bob Dylan, Joni Mitchell, Joan Baez and other artists who defined the 1969 and 1970 Isle of Wight Festivals.
Two-part celebration
The show will open with a selection of sixties and seventies classics before moving into the legendary numbers that made the original Isle of Wight Festivals iconic.
Organisers have designed the event to transport audiences back to the era of peace and love that characterised those historic festivals.
Exec Chairman Dr Brian Hinton said,
“This is going to be a groovy evening full of energy, nostalgia and incredible musicianship.
“We can’t think of a better way to celebrate Jimi Hendrix’s legacy and the Isle of Wight’s musical heritage.”
Tickets and dress code
Dimbola Museum and Galleries will sell tickets for £10, available by calling (01983) 756 814.
The organisers encourage guests to embrace the spirit of the era by wearing loons, bell bottoms, cheesecloth shirts and love beads.
All proceeds from the event will support the Jimi Hendrix Exhibition planned for Dimbola next June, benefiting the Julia Margaret Cameron Trust.
