John Rayment walking 6,000 miles for Parkinsons

If you are out walking along the coast from Ryde to Yarmouth over the next two days, keep an eye out this chap, John Rayment.

Paul Rayment:John is five per cent into a 6,000 mile personal challenge to walk around the entire coast of Great Britain to raise funds for Parkinson’s charities.

£120,000 target
Paul aims to raise ‘a penny a pace’. 2,000 paces equates to £20 a mile, £300 for each 15 mile day and with 6,000 miles being 12 million paces, means a target of £120,000.

Ryde to Cowes today
John set off from Ryde today at 12.30pm and hopes to reach Cowes at 3pm.

Tomorrow morning at 10am he’ll be walking from Cowes to Yarmouth, hopefully arriving at around 2pm.

Say hello
If you do see John, stop and say hello – he’s also happy to receive calls on his mobile 07878 604 597 if you want to arrange to walk part of the coast with him.

He’s wearing a white T-shirt with blue logo on the back that reads “John, John, cheer me on!”

Paul will be moving onto Bournemouth this weekend and on Monday hitting Sandbanks and heading clockwise around the coast of Great Britain.

If you can, show your support through John’s Charity Giving page.

We had a chat with John this morning before he arrived on the Island. Why not sit back and listen.

Thanks to Michael Casey from fellow Hyperlocal Website, Your Thurrock for pointing John in our direction.
