Join Ryde Inshore Rescue’s Station Open Day for a glimpse into lifesaving work

Ryde Inshore Rescue, the independent lifeboat charity based on Appley Lane in Ryde, will be holding its Station Open Day on Sunday 25th May from 10:00am to 2:00pm. The local community are warmly invited to come along for a behind-the-scenes look at the vital work carried out by this volunteer-led organisation.

Something for everyone
The event promises something for everyone. Visitors will have the chance to meet the crew, enjoy guided tours of the station, and watch an exciting live rescue demonstration launch.

The open day will also feature live music, face painting, a skittle alley, and appearances from other blue light services, including the Police, Fire, Ambulance, and Coastguard.

Seeking volunteers
As well as showcasing their equipment and lifesaving capabilities, Ryde Inshore Rescue will be using the day to encourage more people to get involved. The charity is actively recruiting new volunteer boat crew, shore crew, and helpers for their on-site shop.

No previous experience is needed—just a willingness to contribute to a vital community service.

Tesco appearance
To help promote the event, the Ryde Inshore Rescue team will also be outside Tesco in Ryde on Saturday 24th May, along with one of their inshore lifeboats, Ryde Rescue 2, and their popular mascot, Rescue Ronnie.

It’s a great chance to meet the crew in advance, find out more about volunteering, and support the team through fundraising activities.

The Station Open Day offers a unique opportunity to learn more about this independent rescue organisation and find out how local people can support or join the team.
