Ballyrags Comedy Club is inviting Islanders to audition for its debut pantomime production, Treasure Island, which will run at Quay Arts Centre in Newport this November.
Open auditions take place on Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th September, from 10.30am to 2.30pm on both days.
Roles available
Parts up for grabs include the villain Long John Silver, the young hero Jim Hawkins, Captain Kate Smollet, PC Verald, Pirate Pete and the pantomime parrot Captain Flint.
There will also be places for pirates, Islanders, chorus members and comic cameos. Improvisation will be encouraged, and the call is open to seasoned performers and newcomers alike.
Ballyrags takes on Treasure Island
Ballyrags will be taking Treasure Island to the Quay Arts Centre from 27th to 30th November 2025.
In true panto fashion—but with a Ballyrags twist—the show promises swashbuckling adventure, outrageous characters and plenty of laughs.
Proud Mary will star as Dame Hawkins, with award-winning local comedian Baron Fortitude as the eccentric Ben Gunn.
Comedy, chaos and community spirit
Director, Luc Valvona, said,
“We’ve packed this production with comedy, chaos, and community spirit.
“It’s Treasure Island—but not as you know it!”
The production will feature original songs, lively performances and the trademark Ballyrags energy, aiming to be one of the highlights of the festive season.
