Join the Swim for Hope: Wessex Cancer Support seeks kayakers for Solent crossing

For the second year running, Wessex Cancer Support has announced RenoDrain as the headline sponsor of its 2025 Swim for Hope event on Saturday 19th July.

As well as sponsoring the event, the company’s owner, Jamie Webster, will accompany the swimmers in his kayak to make sure they cross the Solent safely. With the challenge already sold out, the charity is looking for more kayakers and support boats to join him.

The annual event raises funds to support Islanders affected by cancer. Last year, 27 people swam 1.3 miles across the Solent from Hurst Castle to Colwell Bay and raised £26,438.

Webster: We highly commend all who are taking part
RenoDrain’s owner, Jamie Webster, says,

“RenoDrain is proud to sponsor Swim For Hope 2025.

“This is the second year we’ve sponsored the event, which we believe truly embodies the unwavering passion, dedication and strength of our wider region in supporting others.

“We highly commend all who are taking part and thank everyone who donates, to raise funds and awareness for Wessex Cancer Support in their mission to support those affected by cancer.”

Haytack: Please do help us if you can
Laura Haytack, Regional Fundraising Manager, says,

“These vital volunteers ensure the safety of all swimmers as they cross the Solent.

“Without them the event simply wouldn’t go ahead, and we wouldn’t be able to raise this incredible amount of money.

“Please do help us if you can.”

Details of how you can volunteer for this event can be found on the website.
