Join the vinyl revival at Reggie’s Retro during Record Store Day festivities

Ventnor’s Independent Record Store, Reggie’s Retro is once again an official participant in
Record Store Day which takes place in the UK on Saturday 20th April.

Hundreds of artists have come together to celebrate the UK’s independent record shops which are at the heart of local communities up and down the country. Artists, labels, and stores across the globe have signed up for the 17th edition of the annual event which champions the unique culture of independent record shops and the art of vinyl.

Open all weekend
Kicking off the weekend with an 8am opening on Saturday morning, Reggie’s Retro will be open again on Sunday 21st April from noon to give Isle of Wight vinyl fans more opportunities to snap up Record Store Day exclusives.

Kate Bush special release
This year’s official Record Store Day UK ambassador is the legendary Kate Bush and as part of her role, Kate will champion the special and unique culture of record shops all over the UK and celebrate the art of vinyl.

Her special Record Store Day release, a 10 inch edition of Eat the Music will be available at Reggie’s, along with a host of exciting releases from a hugely diverse range of artists including emerging talent such Fizz and Maisie Peters, BRIT nominees Olivia Dean and Young Fathers, and top picks from the world of reggae, dance, punk, jazz, pop, rock, soul and Northern Soul.

Live music
Local band The Missing will be giving a special live acoustic performance at 12.30. Local singer songwriter Bethan John also returns for a special performance at 2pm.

Ventnor jazz musician Greg Foat, who has a special Record Store Day release of his own will be popping in store for a special record signing, and soul diva DJ Kaf Tan will be spinning the tunes on the decks in between performances.

Holloway: Ventnor always bounces back
Reggie’s Retro owner, Sharon Holloway was excited to say,

“Ventnor has had a tough time in recent months, but the one thing you can always count on from the town is that it bounces back!

“This weekend is a fantastic opportunity to join in the Record Store Day celebrations and enjoy all that Ventnor has to offer.”
