Thanks to Isle of Wight teenager, Josh Peverley, for sending through an update after his successful fundraising event last month. In his own words.
Following a sell out success at the Blacksheep Club Lounge almost a month ago, which featured DJ Sets from Radio 1 DJ/Bestival Curator Rob da Bank, along with Bestival Island DJ Winners the Playground Syndicate and Maxx Traxx and mindboggling visuals from The AV Circus, I am extremely excited to announce that we’ve raised over £1,150 for the Barely Born Appeal.
Unfortunately, a few things have delayed me in revealing the total, including exams, which fell right in the middle of this event and obviously as many will appreciate they’ve taken my priority at this time.
Massive success
The night was a massive success, I never thought I’d be stood there turning people away. I can’t thank everyone that helped it happen enough, especially Rob; all the DJs; Annie and all the staff at Blacksheep and Widget who did all our sound. We couldn’t have done it without you!
Massive thanks also to everyone for their kind donations especially the Blacksheep Bar and Rob da Bank. I’ve even had people asking me if I’d do a Barely Born Bash next year at the Blacksheep, if they’ll have me back, I think the answer is yes.
Pleasure to host event
Annie Horne said, “Josh did an incredible job putting this night together and getting the support from such a wide range of people and businesses to make it work.
“It was a pleasure to host such a great night in aid of The Barely Born Appeal and huge thanks goes to Rob da Bank and all the gang for a brilliant gig.”
“Roll on Joshtival”
Rob da Bank added, “Josh has been one of our most vocal supporters of Bestival on the Island and I was honoured to play for his charity night raising much needed dough for a great cause.
“I’m getting quite worried about my job the way he’s taking to this promoting game. Roll on Joshtival.”
Well done Josh, you’re an inspiration not only to young people on the Island, but all generations. Ed
