The Newchurch Male Voice Choir returned to present a Platinum Jubilee Concert at All Saints Church, Newchurch on Thursday 2nd June to an almost full audience in the church. Singing songs from the decades of Her Majesty’s 70 years reign.
The songs included; I Believe (1953), Gwahoddiad (1963), An Amereican Trilogy (arr. 1971), You are so beautiful/The wind beneath my wings(1973), Anthem (from Chess) (1984), The Rose (arr. 2000), What a wonderful world (arr. 2007) and Neopolitan trilogy (arr. 2018). The concert ended with ‘Let there be peace on earth’.
£440 raised
A magnificent retiring collection raised £440 which will be split between the Church Weather Vain Repair Fund and the Island Ukrainian Appeal. Bob Cooper said,
“It was lovely to be back singing in public after over two years away. Thank you to the audience for their donations. It makes all the hard practice well worth it.”
