Many thanks to Rowan Adams from Island 2000 for sending through details of this event happening at the end of the month, that should be of interest to many of our readers. Ed
Cold November nights don’t have to mean big fuel bills and greenhouse gases from fossil fuels.
Instead an economical, sustainable local fuel could keep you snug, help local woodland wildlife, and reduce climate change.
That’s the difference woodburners make.
You might even desert the TV to watch the flickering flames at the heart of your home.
And woodfuel isn’t just for houses – modern woodburning stoves and boilers can heat pubs, hotels, schools, and glasshouses.
Woodfuel comes as logs (cheapest and simplest), pellets (easiest for automated systems, but most expensive) and chips (in between).
Woodburners can be simple space-heating stoves; incorporate ovens, hotplates, and boilers for hot water tanks and radiators; or provide central heating and hot water for whole housing estates.
Visit Firest Research or Bio Mass Energy Centre for more information.
And come along to an exhibition of woodburning stoves and boilers from 10 till 4 at Newport Football Club on Friday 28 and Saturday 29 November.
