We’ve heard from two separate well-placed sources that Keith Woods, the Isle of Wight Council’s Head of Children Services, is to leave his position early, due to what has been described as a family illness.
We understand that his contract was due to finish in August, a year after his appointment last September.
There was controversy over his appointment as he only worked four days a week and in return received a £186,000 contract.
A council spokesman told the CP back in February that he was “chosen for his expertise in school re-organisation.”
He gained his role after the previous holder of the position, Steve Beynon received promotion to become the current Chief Executive.
We last saw him on Monday while attending the Scrutiny committee.
This news hasn’t been officially confirmed. We would ask the IWC Press Office, but last time we asked, they said they wouldn’t answer our request as we’ve explained previously.
