Kevin Mole Outboards & Chandlery Open Boat Specimen CompetitionKevin Mole Outboards & Chandlery Open Boat Specimen Competition hosted by Ventnor Angling and Social Club took place on Sunday 27th July.

Calm and sunny weather added competitors in last weekends specimen boat open hosted by Ventnor angling and social club allowing charters and small dinghies to fish from four harbours around the Island.

Kevin Sampson fishing from his boat Fenn Tiger out of Bembridge recorded nine species and 34 fish giving him a winning total of 220 points.

The first prize a Suzuki 2.5Hp outboard engine was presented by the competition sponsor Kevin of Kevin Mole outboards, chandlery & kayaks based in Cowes.

A Plastimo Handheld VHF Radio went to the first runner up Gareth Groft who fished with Kevin Sampson and also recorded nine species with 33 fish worth 209 points.

Stephen Way fished the Ryde area and took the third place prize of a Plastimo Handheld Fish Finder with 189 points.

Twelve year old Katie Mitchell was the top junior with 43 points winning a boat Rod and the Drawn Pairs rods sponsored by Scotties went to Kevin Sampson and Cliff Williams with a combined point’s total of 346.
