The Isle of Wight council has confirmed the dates that parents will be able to register their children for primary and secondary school admissions, for the September 2025 school year.
Due to the recent school place planning communication, there will be a slight delay in parents being able to register their children for primary school places.
Important dates
Secondary school admissions will be live from September as usual.
- Transferring to Secondary School September 2025– opens Monday 16th September 2024 and closes midnight Thursday 31st October 2024. National Offer Day – Monday 3rd March 2025
- Starting Primary School September 2025 – opens Monday 18th November 2024 and closes midnight Wednesday 15th January 2025. National Offer Day – Wednesday 16th April 2025
Bacon: Allowing extra time to support staff through the sensitivities of this process
Councillor Jonathan Bacon, Cabinet Member for Children’s Services and Education said,
“The decision has been made to postpone the date for primary school admissions this year to allow extra time to support school staff through the sensitivities of this process.
“Giving them the space needed to process recent information and to help ensure everyone’s wellbeing is our priority.”
