There was disappointment for the Crews and Scullers from Wightlink Sponsored Ryde Rowing Club on Saturday (25th June, 2022) when the Southsea Regatta – the largest one-day Regatta in the country – was cancelled without any rowing taking place – due to the weather forecast.
Fortunately Southsea Rowing Club, who host the event, made the decision on the Friday (24th June, 2022) so crews and scullers did not have to travel and the Club was able to cancel its booking on the Wightlink Car Ferry.
This cancellation was particularly disappointing for the Ryde Club as they had one of the largest entries of the season to date.
