A former nightclub in Sandown, close to the heart of many Islanders, will soon be finally gone for good.
A demolition notice at the derelict building on Sandown seafront explains the eyesore, which has been standing empty and decaying for years, will soon be no more.
Massive in the 1980s, Zanies was one of THE places to be seen. Sometime this month (exact date unknown) the former nightclub and arcade will be torn down.
Zanies reunions
Such is the Zanies nightclubber’s love for the venue that two reunions have been held in the last year.
Over £800 was raised for the Earl Mountbatten Hospice and Delete Blood Cancer charities at the last reunion (held at Scruffy Jacks on Sandown Pier) in December.
We understand another is planned for the summer and will let you know the dates once they’re confirmed.
