Isle of Wight Fire Service were called to reports of a fire at the Totland Pier cafe last night.
They received the call just after 11pm, leaving just before midnight after the fire at the wooden structure was extinguished.
Officers will return this morning to investigate the situation.
Planning permission has been granted for demolition of the cafe and work was intended to start in November last year to redevelop the space.
