Isle of Wight NHS Trust say that as of Wednesday 18th August there were “nine people in hospital with a Covid-19 diagnosis”.
The clarification comes as the Government Dashboard – where data relating to positive Coronavirus (Covid-19) tests, hospital cases, death and vaccinations are held – is still displaying the incorrect number of patients with Covid in the hospital.
Since Friday last week, the figure displayed is 36, but Isle of Wight health officials have reported this and have been told “the data will be corrected when the seven day figure updates today/tomorrow”.

The cumulative total of positive Covid-19 tests on the Island since the start of the pandemic is 9,031 – a rate per 100,000 of population of 6,404.96.
