Benches made by Ventnor Shed

Ventnor Shed have made some of the best benches we’ve ever seen

Three cheers for the team of handy workers at Ventnor Community Shed.

The Ventnor Town Council used to commission memorial benches from HMP Isle of Wight, but since Covid that arrangement has come to an end.

However, with a very active Ventnor Community Shed, and with the great woodworking skills of Martin Rayner and Phil Warren, three memorial benches have now been delivered.

Credit also to Philip Hawkins and Leigh Geddes who made up the finishing team, as well as Cllr James Toogood and VTC handyman Brian Roberts for installing the benches.

Where to find them
If you pop along to take a perch on either of those two you’ll be treated to a fantastic view on a very sturdy and comfortable bench, knowing it has been lovingly made and finished right here in Ventnor.

One can be found on the East Cliff and another on the green down King’s Bay Road (off Madeira Road).

Look out for the logo
The Ventnor Shed logo, branded on the side of the benches will let you know which ones have been made by the Shed – and of course, that fact they are probably the best quality benches you’ll see in public spaces.
