Having just seen the monthly council tax leave my account, I know I can now look forward to two months reprieve before it starts being taken again in April (with another increase no doubt).

It got me thinking, it would actually be better to not have to pay the sizeable chunk of my income to the council in December and January, rather than February and March.

I’m sure that many other residents who have to pay monthly in order to afford their council tax would agree.

December/January is, for me, the most expensive time of the year. I’d much rather have that money in my bank account during those months.

I’d be interested to know what others think and how we can encourage the council to make the change.
