Letter: Volunteer and make a difference: Join NSPCC’s Childhood Day Mile on the Isle of Wight

News OnTheWight always welcomes a Letter to the Editor to share with our readers – unsurprisingly they don’t always reflect the views of this publication. If you have something you’d like to share, get in touch and of course, your considered comments are welcome below.

The NSPCC is calling on nurseries and schools across the Isle of Wight to join us for the Childhood Day Mile and raise vital funds to help keep children safe.

Childhood Day, on Friday 9th June, is our flagship day of fundraising where children and adults are encouraged to walk, hop, skip or wheel a mile to help raise money for children across the UK.

Sign up today
We’re asking schools, organisations, families and friends across the Isle of Wight to sign up.

Details on how to take part and help us raise funds for NSPCC projects in the region and across the UK can be found on the NSPCC’s online Childhood Day Hub and there are resources available to schools, nurseries and childcare groups that sign up.

Playing a part to help keep children safe from abuse
Whether it’s by fundraising, donating, volunteering at a collection or taking action, we’re asking people in the county to play their part to help keep children safe from abuse.

We’re also looking for friendly volunteers to support us at our collection points this year, including at Cowes on 10th June.
