I recently read that the foodbank in Cambridge has launched a scheme to put upto £60 on the fuel cards of people referred there by the Citizen’s Advice Bureau, funded by local pensioners donating winter fuel allowances which they feel they can forgo.
We know about the alarmingly high level of need for help from our Island foodbanks; I wonder if there could also be a sufficient number of willing and able donors to enable the local application of the idea?
