Light up a Lamp Post: Design a Christmas Decoration comp for young people

Newport and Carisbrooke Community Council are working with local contractor NDL Electrical Ltd to provide this year’s Christmas lights.

As a way of including the local community in the festivities, they have launched a competition for young people who live in or are school/home educated in Newport and Carisbrooke to design their own lamp post decoration to be in with a chance of having it made in real life.

Three age categories
There will be three age categories and a winner chosen from each.

The categories are 4-11 years, 12-15 years and 16-19 years.

These three winners will have their designs made by NDL Electrical Ltd and displayed throughout Newport.

Brodie: I hope there will be lots of entries
Cllr Geoff Brodie, Chair of the Community Council said,

“This is a wonderful opportunity for local, young people to have their creation lit up in lights on our High Street.

“I look forward to seeing the entries and hope there will be lots of them.”

The entry form can be found on the Newport and Carisbrooke Community Council Website and will be sent to local schools.

Completed forms must be delivered to Newport and Carisbrooke Community Council, The Loft, 128 Pyle St, Newport, Isle of Wight, PO30 1JW or a scanned copy sent to [email protected]
