Island artist Lisa Traxler is taking part in an exhibition at the Eldon Gallery in Portsmouth which starts this week.
Members of the public are invited to cross the Solent for an opportunity to meet the artist at a drinks reception taking place this Thursday evening.
Lisa Traxler was artist in residence at Portsmouth Grammar School from January to April 2008. Researching the archives of the school enabled her to work with a unique collection of school photographs that inspired the work showing at the Eldon Gallery from February 9th – March 6th 2009.
Accompanying the artworks is a collection of poems hand written and recorded by Portsmouth Grammar School Pupils, in reference to the archival photographs.
Preview and Reception takes place on Thursday 12th February from 5pm to 7pm at the Eldon Gallery, University of Portsmouth, Winston Churchill Avenue, Portsmouth. P012DJ.
