Rounding off the Ventnor Carnival Week, the St Catherine’s Art Takeover is an art-auction/raffle hoping to raise money NHS kidney patients.
Mark Cosby from Gallery 44 has pulled the event together. He’s managed to convince a number of local artists to donate works for the raffle, as well as a ‘children’s gallery’.
What to expect at St Catherine’s
All artwork will be on display at St Catherine’s Church, Church Street, Ventnor on Saturday (15th August 2026) between 10am and 5pm.
Raffle tickets will cost just a few pounds and you could win original artworks by the end of the day.
Original artworks and co-created pieces available
There will also be an auction for orginal co-created artworks created during Ventnor Fringe, Ventnor Day and during the Pirate Festival.
The exhibition is free to enter, so why not just pop along and support local artists. You never know, you could be taking some original artwork home with you.
Don’t miss the illuminated carnival parade
Don’t forget, the illuminated carnival parade takes place from 9pm on Saturday.
If you missed Wednesday’s parade because you were watching the solar eclipse somewhere else, you can catch the parade on Saturday night instead.
