This really is the week for music lovers, what with Patti Smith playing live at Farringford on Thursday and the Isle of Wight Festival properly kicking off on Friday.
So, what better than a pre-festival warm-up at Quay Arts in Newport on Wednesday night to get you in the mood.
Bestival PR, Simon Blackmore, has been looking for a great excuse to play his favourite records out for ages and this new monthly club night at Quay Arts seems to be just the ticket.
Although Simon’s playlist contemporary artists such as Paul Weller, Bat For Lashes, Bon Iver and Elbow he’ll also be playing his old time favourites from the likes of Lee Hazlewood, Scott Walker, David Bowie, Frank Sinatra, The Beach Boys and Bob Dylan.
This should be a chance to chill out with friends, have some great background music and look forward to some celebrity guest DJs at future events.
Friends of Quay Arts get in for free otherwise it’s £4 on the door.
