Magical realism show Deluge brings grief, Komodo dragons and jam to Ventnor Fringe

Last updated:

A magical realism theatre comedy exploring loss and the unexpected ways people cope arrives at Ventnor Fringe Festival this July.

Deluge, described as a tender, funny and surreal theatrical journey, comes to Ingram’s Yard on Dudley Road for three performances on Tuesday 21st, Wednesday 22nd and Thursday 23rd July 2026, each starting at 5pm.

Inspired by real lives
The show draws on more than 40 real-life stories gathered through a social media callout, blurring imagination with reality as one woman finds her inner world tipping sideways into ladders, Komodo dragons, and a thousand kilos of jam.

The production combines physical theatre, comedy and magical realism to examine what happens when grief spills into everything around you.
