Man Charged With Dangerous Driving Following Calbourne Road Collision

Police tapeA man has been charged by police investigating a serious injury collision on the Isle of Wight earlier this year.

Nathaniel Green, 19, of Amos Hill, Totland Bay was charged with dangerous driving and bailed to appear at Isle of Wight Magistrates on August 26.

He was arrested by police following the collision on the B3401 Calbourne Road on April 24.

Shortly before 8pm the Honda Civic he was driving from Freshwater towards Newport left the road and collided with a tree.

Both he and his passenger, a 17-year-old woman, were seriously injured and had to be cut free from the vehicle.

Officers from the Shanklin Roads Policing unit had to close the road for seven hours for crash investigators to examine the scene.
