Detectives are appealing for more witnesses after a fight near a pub in Cowes on the Isle of Wight.

Police were called to the area outside the Painter’s Arms at 1.21am on the morning of Saturday, December 8, 2012.

A 37-year-old man from East Cowes, Isle of Wight suffered head injuries and went to hospital for treatment. He is now recovering at home.

A 40-year-old man from Cowes, Isle of Wight was arrested on suspicion of causing actual bodily harm, questioned and bailed until January 21, 2012 pending further enquiries.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the assault, which occurred during the early hours of Saturday, December 8, 2012 between midnight and 1am outside the Painter’s Arms.
