Medina Bookshop’s packed three-month programme features author talks and live music

Medina Bookshop has announced a packed programme of events over the next three months, with a mix of talks, book launches, music and festive celebrations.

The independent bookshop is well known for its intimate setting, making each gathering a warm and memorable experience.

Author talks and book launches
The season begins on Thursday 25th September at 7pm with Dickens and the Detectives, a joint event with authors Angela Buckley and Lucinda Hawksley. This event is now sold out.

On Wednesday 22nd October at 7pm, actor Larry Lamb will appear in conversation about his debut novel. Tickets are £15, which includes a copy of the book.

Halloween sees the launch of Rust by Paul Littler on Friday 31st October at 6pm. This horror and fantasy release is free for all to attend.

Later in November, Robin Ford will launch his poetry collection Jellyfish on Friday 21st November at 6pm. This event is also free.

On Wednesday 26th November at 7pm, author Georgie Codd will give a talk based on her project Never Had a Dad. She placed an advert seeking a father figure, and this unusual journey will be the subject of her talk. This event is now sold out.

Live music at the bookshop
Music plays a strong part in the line-up. On Thursday 16th October, Scottish harpist and vocalist Esther Swift will perform at the shop. Tickets are £15.

Chris Cleverley returns on Saturday 22nd November with his alternative Christmas songs. Tickets are £12.50.

On Sunday 14th December, songwriter Ryan O’Reilly will perform with support from Tali Trow. Tickets are £12.50.

Festive finale
The programme ends on Sunday 21st December at 5pm with Carols Round the Tree. The Medina Community Choir will bring festive cheer with carols, mince pies and mulled wine. This event is free to attend.

Practical details
Doors open shortly before 7pm and events begin just after. Attendees are welcome to bring their own refreshments.
