MHI Vestas Offshore Wind is opening its doors on Saturday to offer you a job

It’s not often that 70 new jobs become available on the Isle of Wight in one go, is it? Due to a lot of new orders, MHI Vestas Offshore Wind is holding a Jobs Fair and they want anyone with a positive approach to work to come along. Fear not if you haven’t worked in composites before, they’ll train you up.

It sounds like there’s quite an opportunity opening up at MHI Vestas Offshore Wind.

They’re looking to give 70 new worker’s jobs.

What’s even better is that you don’t need any prior experience in the composites industry, just a willingness to learn on the job and approach it with a positive can-do attitude.

Thanks to the strong growth at MHI Vestas Offshore Wind – the joint venture between Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) and Vestas Wind Systems A/S – these 70 new jobs across production, maintenance and logistics are being created at their site in Stag Lane, Newport.

Success story: From recruitment to cutting edge technology
Aaron, 33, was working in recruitment for festivals and catering events before joining MHI Vestas Offshore Wind. He didn’t have experience in wind turbines, but he had worked as a qualified mechanic. What really drew him to the job in the first place were the prospects and the opportunity to develop.

The Isle of Wight isn’t best known for its wages but the package on offer through the world’s most powerful production of wind turbine blades was attractive in itself.

Today, Aaron is a Group Lead managing two teams. On a day to day basis he ensures everyone has what they need to get the job done. In addition he works alongside the training and quality team, getting involved with the production elements.

His advice for anyone considering joining the team,

“If you want an exciting career and great job prospects and you’re willing to learn then this is the place to work.”
