Monday 10th Feb travel and weather updates

Although there are no weather warning issued from the Met Office for today (Monday) , the impact of recent weather conditions have affected some travel services (see roads and train update below).

Hovertravel are currently operating in accordance with their winter timetable.

7.30
Hovertravel: Due to an unexpected technical problem, a shuttle service is in operation.

Wightlink and Red Funnel report no problems on their ferry services.

6.48
Island Line trains: Service suspended due to landslip near Sandown.

  • A replacement coach service service will operate leaving Shanklin at 38 minutes past the hour and Ryde Esplanade at 50 minutes past the hour.
  • A shuttle taxi service is replacing trains between Ryde Esplanade and Ryde Pier Head as trains are not able to run along the pier due to storm damage.

In additional valid rail tickets will also be accepted on Southern Vectis bus routes 2 and 3 between Shanklin and Ryde and return. More detail.

Road closures
Several roads are closed due to flooding or poor road surface

Harding Shute, Ryde – closed due to flooding
Golf Links Road, Sandown – closed due to flooding
Morton Common, Sandown – closed due to flooding
Knighton Lane, Newchurch – closed due to its poor road surface
