Thanks to Krissy for details of grants available to community groups. In her own words. Ed
The Isle of Wight Community Fund (IWCF) is encouraging local groups to apply for funding as it opens its small grant programme.
Already this year the IWCF has awarded grants of over £78,000 to Island based community and voluntary groups and now has a further £7,500 to give away.
This year the IWCF is focusing on supporting young Islanders, up to age of 25. It is particularly interested in funding projects which show real opportunities for training, learning and developing skills and which can demonstrate positive outcomes as a result of the grant. Priority will be given to applications which make a difference to youth unemployment.
Grants from £250 to £1,000 will be available for volunteer expenses, equipment, training or organisational running costs. The IWCF is especially interested in supporting smaller groups where a small grant can make a big difference.
