We’re big fans of the Monorex Art Collective – who have strong ties to the Island, so when we can, we love to let you know what they’re up to.
You might remember seeing artwork from the Monorex collective at Quay Arts back in October 2005 as part of Shopping Trolley.
You also might remember the Secret Wars event that took place over in Southampton in September last year.
Well, Secret Wars has almost come to completion now with the grand final taking place at the end of the month.
The Truman Brewery, an old haunt for us, is the venue for the final battle and facing the challenge will be Odisy and Wen (pictured above).
Each artist gets 90 minutes to do their best with black paint only and the winner will be judged by two select industry figures as well as the crowd decibel reader.
“The World’s premiere street art competition, Innovate don’t imitate!”
If you happen to be in the capital city, that’s London not Newport then why not head over to Shoreditch for this grand battle of the spot artistic talent.
There’ll be music from Skunk Boy, Reeps 1 and friends. It won’t cost you a dime to get in, which is good, seeing as we use sterling over here.
